Wainscot holds BergenFest 2008 on October 2nd, the first annual party and expo celebration of Bergen Health & Life Magazine’s “Reader’s Choice Awards”. Over 1,300 Bergen County residents attended the first year’s event where the public sampled top-rated food, drink and more from local restaurants and businesses.

SEPTEMBER 2008

Joel J. Ehrlich joins Wainscot Media as executive vice president. In the newly created position, Ehrlich will oversee sales and marketing operations. Named by Brandweek as “Youth Marketer of the Year” in 1995, Ehrlich has had a distinguished career in publishing, spanning consumer and business magazines.

Highlights of his career include being publisher of Modern Bride and American Baby, launching Healthy Kids, creating American Baby TV and Healthy Kids TV. He then helped to change Marvel from a comic books publisher to an entertainment and consumer products giant and then continued on at Warner Bros., Entertainment Group and DC Comics.

AUGUST 2008

Joanna Dara joins Wainscot to lead development in custom jewelry and fashion publishing programs within the Florida region. Formerly with Florida Design, Joanna’s responsibilities will also include generating new advertising categories within New York Spaces magazine.

Carroll Dowden is interviewed on News 12's "It's Your Money" about NJ CEO Magazine and being the CEO of a NJ based publishing company.

JULY 2008

Wainscot signs on M.Penner in Houston and Pockets in Dallas to Wainscot’s custom publishing program for luxury retailers. These two new magazines are part of a strategic plan to extend the company's publishing footprint outside the metro New York area. This program began with the introduction of a magazine for Boyds in Philadelphia and will continue with an initiative focused on new Health & Life, jewelry and fashion magazines, plus related concepts in the areas of luxury goods, interior design and real estate.

JUNE 2008

Lillian August, the premium home furnishings dealer, signs on to Wainscot’s custom publishing program for luxury retailers. The first issue will be published in fall of 2008 and will be created for shoppers and designers who have a passion for fine living and design.

MAY 2008

Michelle A. Sagalyn, former publisher of Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, joins Wainscot Media as vice president, business development. Her responsibilities include developing the Connecticut Edition of New York Spaces magazine and building the Wainscot portfolio of custom publications.

FEBRUARY 2008

Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation has tapped Wainscot Media to create, publish and distribute PREVIEWS, a luxury real estate magazine showcasing Coldwell Banker Previews International. The magazine will be published in three regional editions throughout metropolitan New York and will debut in spring 2008.

JANUARY 2008

Wainscot signs on LaViano Jewelers and Boyds to Wainscot's custom publishing program for luxury retailers. Established in 1843 in Westwood, LaViano Jewelers serves the northern New Jersey area and just recently added a new location in Englewood. Celebrating its seventieth anniversary this year, Boyds retails the best in designer clothing inside a landmark 60,000 square-foot store on Chestnut Street in center city Philadelphia.

DECEMBER 2007

Wainscot publishes the first issue of Rockland Health & Life and NJ CEO magazine. The NJ CEO website also launches with expanded editorial and features.

NOVEMBER 2007

Wainscot purchases Hour Media's New York Home magazine. New York Spaces and New York Home, the two shelter magazines serving metropolitan New York, will be combined and re-launched as a whole new New York Spaces. Jason Kontos will become editor in chief. Kontos has a long and distinguished career in the field of interior design, having previously served in senior editorial positions with House Beautiful, Veranda and Traditional Home. Read more

Wainscot's Garmany magazine is published in partnership with Garmany, a celebrated luxury clothing retailer in Red Bank, NJ. Garmany is the cornerstone of Wainscot's custom publishing program for luxury retailers.

A Fairfield County, Connecticut advertising zone of New York Spaces is announced starting with the January/February 2008 issue.

JULY 2007

This month mark's the debut of Middlesex Health & Life, produced in partnership with Saint Peter's University Hospital.
